In general, broken people hold on to broken things. As we allow the Lord to work in us we will begin to see that much of what we are carrying with us daily is broken and is often beyond repair.
These broken things keep us in a barren wilderness.
Jesus wants to do a new thing in us. When we let Him work in our lives we go from a desert wilderness to a flourishing well watered land.
"18 Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
