Whose side is the Lord on?

13 Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?”

14 He said, “No; rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, “What has my lord to say to his servant?”

Joshua 5:13-14 NASB95

Shalom everyone, this is the day the Lord has made and we are going to rejoice!

In today's text we see the Lord appears to Joshua as the Captain of the Armies of Heaven.

What is interesting to note is the Lord is neither for Joshua or against His enemy.

Say whaaaat?

Among God's people there is some confusion about the Lord and where He stands on things.

The God of heaven is not for His people and against the heathen.

We know this because of John 3, Jesus came to save sinners; we all were sinners at one point.

One thing we can be sure of is God is against the works of the devil and those who are doing the devil's will are being offered God's grace and mercy.

How can I say this?  Are you born again?

If you answered yes then you are a witness of God's grace and mercy.

He waited for you to respond, He didn't smite you first then ask questions later....I'm jus' sayin'.....

Take a Church split as an example, regardless of which faction is in the right the Lord grieves over division among His children.

When we call on the Lord to step into our situation, and He arrives, He doesn't come to takes sides but to take over!

This is what we must know about our God...

—He wants His will to be done—

As we get closer to Jesus we will know His will and do it because of our growing love for Him.

Then we will begin to see more and more of what He desires for us and from us.

Seek to always be on the Lord's side in any situation or issue!
